Bortolotto, Mary Catherine (nee Gattafoni)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Bortolotto, with family by her side, on December 25th in her 85th year. Beloved wife for 62 years to Arnold. Loving mother of Colin (Trang), Chris (Meaghan), and Karen (Wayne). Dear Nonna of Claire, Ryan, and Breckin. Dear sister of Joe Gattafoni (and the late Marion), Frances Guadagnini (Albert) and the late Henry. Survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews Patrick, Laurie, Stefan, Katya and many others. Mary will be lovingly remembered for her love of swimming, knitting, reading, and shuttling her closest friends to church, the library and everyday errands. She will also be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of music and her dedication to others. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME1919 King Street East., on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 128 Edgemont St S, Hamilton, on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, at (time to be confirmed). Cremation to follow. Burial will take place at a later. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, anyone in attendance must RSVP either on the website at www.dermodys.com or by phoning 905-388-4141. All in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Public Library or the Canadian Cancer Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
