Marina Creaser Thursday September 9th 2021 avis de deces

A lifelong Feltzen South resident, Marina Creaser passed away peacefully on Sept. 9, 2021, at the age of 85.
Daughter of the late Wallace and Uda (Mosher) Zellers, Marina was born on Feb. 17, 1936, and 20 years later married Leon Creaser, beginning a 65-year adventure together.
An accomplished baker whose pies – particularly her coconut cream pie – and other homemade confections capped each and every supper (that’s more than 23,000 desserts during her married life). Marina also enjoyed embroidery and quilting, with much of her handiwork sent overseas, through her church group, for those in need.
She was a lifetime member of St. John’s By The Sea Evangelical Lutheran Church and secretary of the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Group. An avid reader whose personal library included every Danielle Steele novel, she met each Wednesday with other members of the Feltzen South Book Club. She was also a member of the Friendship Card Club co-founded by her mother. She and Leon enjoyed social visits to the Tim Hortons in Lunenburg, and lunches at Jerry’s Diner in Bridgewater.
In their later years, she and Leon often travelled with friends to Cuba and Mexico.
Most cherished, though, were her children, Cathy, Greg and Shelley. She often wished she’d had more, and when they got older, she helped take care of neighbours’ youngsters. She also adored her grandchildren.
Next to her children, her favourite thing was shopping, at which she was experienced and tireless. Her best friend Gloria remarked, “You know the expression ‘Shop ‘til you drop’? Well, that was Marina, except she never dropped.”
Marina is survived by her husband, Leon; children Cathy (Anthony Corkum), Greg (Barb Janes) and Shelley (Steve Bezanson); and grandchildren Thomas and Isabelle Stewart and Cole and Chase Bezanson. She also leaves behind her dear cats, Tigger and Molly.
Special thanks to the staff at Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg County Home Care and VON Adult Day program.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Feltzen South Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 11:00 am.
Donations in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, or Feltzen South Cemetery.
