Obituary of Marilyn Bornais
A long-time resident of Chatham, Marilyn Bornais passed away on Monday, January 4th, 2021.
Born October 20th, 1936, Marilyn was the daughter of late William Hird “Charlie” and Corrine Alvina “Molly” McGee (nee Bassett).
Beloved wife of 36 years to the late Philip Bornais (2019).
Loving mother to Robert Barber (Christine) of Wallaceburg, Catherine Roberts (Ed Turner) of Chatham, Brenda Roberts of London, and Scott Roberts of Chatham. Stepmother to Lawrence Bornais, Vince Bornais, Paul Bornais, and Christine Bornais.
Predeceased by her daughter Deborah Barber, and infant son David Barber.
Dear sister of Roy McGee (Margaret) of London. Predeceased by her brother Charles and sister-in-law Eileen McGee.
Grandmother to 21, great-grandmother to 28 and great- great Grandmother to 3. Predeceased by granddaughter Samantha Shepphard, and great grandson Logan Murphy.
Marilyn graduated from St. Clair College as an RN. She went on to work within the Industrial Field, working at both Campbell Soup and Siemens before retiring. Marilyn volunteered at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and also served as a Nursing Officer of St. John Ambulance, Chatham.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadow Park Nursing Home for their compassion at this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A Private Committal Service will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2021, in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
