WALDIE, Marilyn Joyce; Wife of Paul, Daughter of Ray (d.) and Verda (d.) Fry, Eldest sister to Donna (Wayne), Fred (Beryl), Doug (Debbie), Ken (Jane), and Harry (Judy). Younger sister to Joan Calvaruso and sister-in-law to Ken (Deanna), Sharon (d.), Rosanne (d.), and Andrew (Mary). Mother of Andrea, Mark, Brian (Lori), and Alison. Grandmother to Henry, Eli, Ursa and Aslan. Cousin and Auntie to numerous others. Dear friend to many and beloved by all who knew her. Marilyn lived in service to all she loved.
After a stoical journey with cancer, Marilyn (Mom, Mingo, Grandma, Gma, Miss Marilyn, Sister) passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough surrounded by family, love and many, many gladiolus. She flew out of the open window into the Universe to the sound of crickets in the wee hours of Friday, August 20th, 2021, leaving the world a considerably less crafty place.
We wish to express our deepest respect and gratitude to her doctors, nurses, and community for the exceptional care they provided.
As per Marilyn’s wishes, her interment at Ida, Ontario will be a small private family affair. In lieu of flowers, Marilyn wishes for donations made on her behalf to:
