Obituary of Marie PURVIS
July 31, 1935 – Carstairs, Alberta
March 10, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta
Catherine “Marie” Purvis, beloved wife of Ross Purvis, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
Marie was born in Carstairs and had a wonderful small town childhood and had some cousins attending the same school and social events. She graduated from Business College in Calgary and worked in an insurance office and a bank before she married Ross in 1957.
After many moves to oil fields across the three Western Provinces, the young family moved to Laramie, WY in 1963 where Ross attended UW. The next move was to Edmonton in 1966 and finally back to Calgary in 1971. She was a talented artist and the family treasures her paintings. She enjoyed golf, hiking, skiing and travel across Canada and abroad.
Besides her loving husband, Marie is survived by her daughter Allison; son Blair (Janice Deere); grandson James (Angela Syrie); and great-grandson Logan.
Due to Covid restrictions a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Marie’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
In living memory of Marie Purvis, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, CALGARY, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
