Age 81, Foyer Père Fiset, Chéticamp, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Chéticamp. Sophie was the daughter to the late Henri T. and the late Marie Jessie (Poirier) Harris.
Sophie was a warm, loving wife, mother and Godmother. She did everything with much love, at home and at work. She worked at the fish plant for most of her life. She was known as an amazing cook, loved lobster, Bingo, and playing cards. She also hooked rugs as a hobby. When she was younger, she enjoyed ‘ski-dooing’ to the camp with family and friends and a bucket of Lick-A-Chick on the table was enjoyed by all. Sophie was a friend and mother to many. Blessed, we all are, to have her in our hearts. We love you.
Sophie is survived by her son Joey Poirier; brothers, Louis Pat and Charlie Joe; sisters, Lina, Marie Adele, and Geraldine. Besides her husband, Jean Maurice, she was predeceased by brothers, Henri and Thomas; sisters, Nanette, Juliette, Marguerite, Doris, and Elizabeth.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a funeral mass will be celebrated at a later date. Donations in Sophie’s memory may be made to Foyer Père Fiset.
