Maria Erlinda Chu passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 on July 29, 2021, in Richmond, BC, after spending the day surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Emilio Chu Yat-Loy; mother to Doris Lee (Johnry), Elsa Chu, Emilio Chu (Vhijay), Maria Tam (William K, deceased), Cristina Wong (Bob), Isabel Chu, and Alberto Chu; grandmother to Stephanie Lazarus (Paul), Jonathan Lee, Marcus Lee, William L. Tam, Andrew Wong (Karen), and Emily Wong; as well as great-grandmother to Isaiah Lazarus.
Prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12th, 2021, at Canadian Martyrs Parish located at 5771 Granville Avenue, Richmond, B.C., V7C 1E8 where a Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021.
Following the Mass, internment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Gardens of Gethsemani located at 15694 32 Avenue, Surrey, B.C., V3Z 9V1.
After internment, reception will take place at 5:00 p.m. at Continental Seafood Restaurant located at 11700 Granville Avenue, Richmond, B.C., V6X 1L5.
