Margaret Campbell MacDonald, at the age of 91years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her residence, Portebello Manor, Ottawa.
She was born in Newton Mills, NS on June 10, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Eulalie (nee Grant) Creelman.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Deborah Lynn (Dave), grandchildren Sean (Chelsea), Ian (Meagan) and Jennifer (Billy) as well as 8 great-grandchildren: Billy, Nathan, Elizabeth, Ashton, Cameron, Harrison, Easton and Annie. Her dear friends Lorna and Claudette and many others. She is also survived by brothers Jim Creelman, Ray (Marg) Johnson, George (Diane: Heather, Joey, Dawn and Dana) Creelman and by sister-in-law Betty (Jackie Brandy) Creelman.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her dear friend and partner Harry Poloz, Stepmothers, Marjorie (Cox) Creelman and Gladys (Johnson) Creelman. She was also predeceased by her sister, Ruth Cox and husband Billy (mother and father of the living Pam and Kim) and by brothers, Francis, Alexander, Donald, Bill and Jackie and sister-in-law Marilyn (Jim) Creelman.
Marg taught school in Maitland, NS before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1951. She was proud of the fact that she was one of the first female radar technicians to graduate from the RCAF Communication School in Clinton, Ont. After 4 years in the RCAF, Marg returned to a teaching career which she retired from 30+ years later. She was an avid skier and loved playing cards at the local Legion (632) and spending time at the Roy Hobbs Center. Marg was beautiful inside and out and was always there for anyone who needed advice, a shoulder to lean on or just a good chat. She will be missed dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marvin and Margaret and the rest of the staff at Portebello Manor for providing such loving care.
Due to Covid-19, Margaret’s Memorial Service will be postponed until the summer, 2021.
As an expression of sympathy and in honour of Margaret, donations may be made to Cancer Research.
