Obituary
It is with sadness the family of Margaret Anne MacDonald announce her passing which occurred at Turnbull Nursing Home on Monday August 30th, 2021. Born in Saint John on March 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late J. Orice and Rita (Donovan) Goguen. Marg was a dedicated school teacher and worked for School District 8 for over 30 years retiring, in 1995. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association. Marg loved to cross-stitch, garden (as long as John watered and weeded), and bake with her grandchildren.
Marg is survived by her husband of over 55 years, John MacDonald; sons John (Jay) MacDonald (Mary Jo Murphy) and Jeffrey MacDonald (Kim Brewer) and daughter Megan MacDonald (Darci Northrup) all of Saint John; precious grandchildren Kirsten, Jordan, Alex, Emily, Kelsie, Jack, Kristopher, Ciaran, and Clancy; great-grandchildren Mylah, Lainey, and Matilda; brothers Patrick (Carolyn) of Woodstock, Brett of Woodstock, Derek (Debra) of Rothesay, Michael (Myrna) of Saint John, Brian (Jane) of Burlington ON; sisters Michele Melvin (Jim) of Rothesay, Nicole Fulton (Andre Dumas) and Jennifer Pierce (Bill) both of Saint John; sisters-in-law Loretta Goguen, Sheila MacDonald and Anne (Glenn) Griffin and brother-in-law George (Jane) MacDonald of Carman MB; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Marg was predeceased by her brother Jack.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff of Turnbull Nursing Home. They were always so kind and compassionate to our family and especially our mom.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation for family and extended family on Wednesday. A private memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday September 2nd followed by a reception.
