With sorrow the family announce the death of Mr. Marcel Boucher. A long-time Haileybury resident, Marcel passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
Born in Belle-Vallée, October 12, 1933 to the late Alcide Boucher and the late Martha Rhéaume. He worked as a farmer, lumberjack, miner, volunteer firefighter, Fire Captain, Sherman Mines pit truck driver and building superintendent. At retirement, he decided to have fun driving cars, and in his early 80s became a school crossing guard at École Ste-Croix.
Predeceased by his parents; his wife Marielle Roy and his sister Cécile. Left to mourn is his spouse Cécile Barrette; his children: Micheline, Michel and Mario; his grandchildren: Natalie, Daniel, Mélodie, Mathieu and Kyle; his eight great-grandchildren; his brothers: Réal and Georges; his sisters: Rita, Adrienne, Laurette, Marie-Rose, Anne-Marie and Pauline as well as many friends.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium – Haileybury. The family will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A reception will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Holy Cross Catholic Church, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 9:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to a local charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Condolences and contributions may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
