Obituary of Madeline Iona Davison
Madeline “Madge” Iona (Hutchinson) Davison, 95, formerly of Port Williams, passed away on October 25, 2021, in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Canaan, on June 29, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Emmerson and Iona (Barron) Hutchinson, formerly of Avonport.
Our precious Mom was the life and light of every family gathering. She welcomed everyone with arms wide open and her ever-present, beautiful smile. Family and friends meant the world to her. She always made time for each one of us in her gentle and caring, nurturing way. Mom could have the tea pot on and the table laden with a delicious, homemade feast that seemed to magically appear before you had time to take your coat off. She lived to serve others. In her fun-loving way, she could have a room full of people doubled over in laughter and that has left us all with an abundance of treasured memories.
It was important to Mom to make your heart shine as bright as her own.
Madge is survived by sons, Garth (Pat), Florida, USA; Terry (Fran), Enfield; Roger (Jackie), Cambridge; daughter, Jeannie, Avonport; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Joan Miller, Colorado, USA; Carol (Jim) Legge, Greenwich; brother, Richard (Mary), Avonport; sister-in-law, Isabel Bishop, Bedford; several nieces, nephews, and dear friend, Ethel Ells.
Besides her parents, Madge was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Vernon; son, Glen; grandson, Jonathan Davison; daughter-in-law Ruth (Murphy) Davison; son-in-law, Fred MacIntosh; sisters, Margaret Rose in childhood; Frances (Arnold) Wellwood; Jean (Ken) Weagle; Mildred (Larry) Lutwick; Dorothy (Chester) Reese; brothers, Ralph; Frank (Madelyn); and brother-in-law, Theodore Miller.
Our family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Evergreen for their care, kindness, and compassion.
