of Mabel Harper
Mabel Harper, 83, of Quesnel BC, passed away on February 22, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.
Mabel was born on May 25, 1937 to Felix and Sophie Bob in Williams Lake. She was part of a large and caring family at the Sugar Cane First Nations community, brothers and sisters (Max, Liz, Clara, Marvin, Ernie, and Tony).
Mabel enjoyed travelling and new experiences. In her younger years she worked in ranching, forestry and in hotels. She also enjoyed stock car racing. In 1959 she met Charlie Wooldridge and they raised three children, Beverley, Darlene and Charlotte.
Mabel settled in Vancouver for 40 years, returning to Quesnel in 2019 to be near family. She enjoyed several hobbies including berry-picking, Bingo and puzzles.
Mabel was predeceased by her parents, partners and siblings. She is survived by her daughters Bev (Larry), Darlene (Dan) and Charlotte (Ryan); grandchildren Ryan, Melanie, Jennifer and Nick; and great-grandchildren Hayden, Shae, Aurora and Asher.
Mabel’s smiling face and mischievous sense of humour will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
