Louis Amirault
Louis Joseph Amirault, age 84 of Middle East Pubnico died
June 25, 2021. Born in Lower East Pubnico, he was a son of
the late Alfred and Florence (d’Entremont)
Amirault. He was a retired fisherman. He is
survived by his sons; Floyd (Carolyn) of Lower East Pubnico and Elroy
(Jill) of West Pubnico, brothers; Claude (Eilleen), Lower Sackville,
Robert (Irene), Middle East Pubnico, Michel (Gretchen), Tantallon and
Arnold (Bonnie), Middle East Pubnico, sisters; Rachel Nickerson, Woods
Harbour, Geraldine (Freeman) Savoury, Lawrencetown, grandchildren;
Kaitlyn, Taylor and Riley and sister-in-law Cassie, Middle East
Pubnico. He was predeceased by his wife Agnita Marie
(d’Entremont) Amirault, brothers; Leonce and Alphonse
(1951), and a sister; Rosemarie Sheldrick.On line condolences may be

Louis was involved in the fishing industry from an early age
fishing with others. Eventually he purchased his own boat and went
lobstering, herring gill net and hand lining ground fish. He employed
both his sons early in their careers and was proud to teach them the
trade. Louis loved fishing, but retired in 1998 to care for
his wife Nita who had suffered a debilitating stroke. He dedicated all
his time caring to her needs. Upon Nita’s passing he lost
his wife and soulmate.
He enjoyed the simple things in life like going for drives to
look for deer and to the wharf to check on the boats. He loved visits
from family members and keeping in touch with other family members
with daily or weekly phone conversations.
The family would like to acknowledge the care and support
given to both of our parents by the Yarmouth Argyle Home Support
Service. Special bonds were formed and meant so much to Dad. Thank
you!
