MacDonald, Lorraine Edwina
Sydney
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved “Angel” Lorraine Edwina MacDonald (Burke) on November 13, 2021 at her residence, after enduring a lengthy illness.
Born in Sydney on June 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Grace (Estabrooks) Burke.
After graduation, Lorraine moved to Toronto where she worked for the Army in the payroll department. She worked there until her “one and only love” brought her back home to be married. They moved to Trout Brook Rd. where they raised a family of five. Lorraine was an integral part of their companies, Riverside Pulp, T.B. Trucking and later Angus R. MacDonald Fuelwood.
Lorraine was an avid volunteer for Brownies, Girl Guides and a decorated member of St. John Ambulance. She loved giving dinner parties which usually included playing Auction with her friends. She filled every Holiday with love and memories for all of her family, for whom her love knew no bounds. Her creativity and generosity was known by all who knew her. Her marriage to Angus for over 61 years saw them become closer and even more in love than ever. She shall be forever loved. Forever missed.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Angus R. , daughters Arlene (James) White, Hills Road, Linda MacDonald, Mira Road, Shauna (David) Dart, ON, Gail LeVatte, Sydney, son Donald, Westmount, sister Grace Nickerson, Dartmouth, brother Gary (Marlene) Burke, Halifax, grandchildren Clayton White, Garett White, Jaleesa ( Ricky) McCarthy, Angus Peters, Daniel Levatte, great granddaughter Madison McCarthy.
