Lloyd Francis Grandy, age 55 of Halifax passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home July 29, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
He is the youngest son of the late Eugene and Mary (Fitzgerald) Schmeisser-Grandy.
He is survived by his sisters Cecilia, Marion, Susan, Georgina and brother, Paul, as well as numerous extended family and friends. He is predeceased by brothers, Jack, Jim, Billy, Tom, Eugene and nephew Joseph.
He was a hard worker his entire life, working faithfully with his brother Paul for many years whom he never once let down; and most recently for Dexter Construction where he was looking forwards to returning.
He was a great friend and known for his kindness to all, especially those in need. His infectious laugh; his pure love of children, and his ability to always be positive, optimistic and hopeful will be missed by all who knew him. He was kind-hearted soul and never judged people.
He was a peaceful man throughout his life. He had a unique personality and always had a smile on his face. He was honest and carried himself with pride and dignity. He enjoyed quiet evenings alone but also spending time with his close family.
Family and good friends were very important to him. Lloyd was also known for his love of animals and usually greeted pets before people. He always had to feed your pet treats while he was visiting.
He is loved and respected by all his sisters and brother. The world lost a good man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. His legacy will be carried on through his family.
Services to be held at St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 2267 Brunswick Street, Halifax, Saturday August 28 at 11:00 am with reception to follow
