Lloyd Earl Hadley
1935-2021
Hadley, Lloyd Earl –
Hadleyville, age 86.
It is with heavy hearts we say
goodbye to a man whom we loved so much, Lloyd Earl
Hadley.
Lloyd worked many jobs in his lifetime. Picking
apples in Annapolis Valley, working on the freight boats and fish
processing plant at Mulgrave wharf and custodian at Sand Point Marine
Base.
He received his marine craft operator certification, but
lobster fishing was his life long career.
Lloyd was happiest surrounded by his girls and his many
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Early mornings in his
boat on the Chebucto Bay and spending time with his wife brought him
contentment.
He kept with tradition, spending winter months making his own
lobster traps and knitting his own nets. He enjoyed putting
in a garden, making hay, cutting pulpwood and raising lambs and
cattle.
He took pride in providing for his family, but remained
humble. He believed in an honest, hard day’s work
and was known for his quiet nature and fun sense of
humor.
Lloyds love for the Lord was reflected in his gentle care and
love for his wife Rowena, of 60 years, mother, Ida, father, Oscar,
brothers, Wayne and Gordon, many nieces and nephews, cousins and his
five daughters.
He will be greatly missed be by his loving wife, Rowena,
daughters, Madonna Vickery (Randy), Caroline McDonald (Mike), Heather
King (Rob), Constance Hadley-Halloran, Tammy Driedger (Benny);
grandchildren, Gerald Vickery (Melissa), Bradley Vickery, Laura
Stevens, Maria Stevens, Ashley Fraser (Craig), Erica Hawco (Neil),
Celine Martel, Julaea Halloran (Jordan), Joel Halloran (Ronee),
Marlayna Halloran, Gavin Driedger; great-grandchildren, Maverick,
Sawyer, Austin, Paisley, Jaxon, Thomas, Harrison, Lloyd, Felix, Rowena
and brothers, Wayne Hadley and Gordon Hadley (Hazel). Besides his
parents, Lloyd was predeceased by baby brother Lloyd Lewis and
granddaughters, Tanya Marie and Alaynah-Dawn.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2
