Obituary For Liza (Lisa) Dawn McDonald
December 14, 1985 – July 19, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Liza (Lisa) Dawn McDonald announces her passing on July 19, 2021, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton after a long illness.
Lisa was born in Grande Prairie but moved to Edmonton where she spent her childhood and attended school. She lived most of her adult life in Northern Alberta with her extended family and later had her children there. Lisa was a kind and generous woman who adored her kids. She also loved to sing and listen to music.
Lisa is survived by her children Preston, Araya, Xavier, and Braden; her siblings Angel, Lance, Donny, Francine, Sophie, Debbie, Isabella, Damien, and Jackson; her aunts and uncles Mayann and Andre, Bernadette, Vera and Bruce, Noella and John, Lorna and Rod, Lorraine, Wilma, Gladys, and Verna; as well as many cousins and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her spouse Jesse, her parents Wendy McDonald and Don Hamelin, grandparents Malcolm and Irene McDonald, Isabel and James Hamelin, and step-grandfather Brien Morin, as well as her brother Waylon, and sister Holly.
A Gathering of Friends will take place at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie) on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 1:00pm. Lisa’s ashes will be laid to rest at the Grande Prairie Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
