Lisa Jeanette Cormier
Lisa Jeanette Cormier passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the VG Hospital at the age of 43. Born on October 11,1977 in Halifax, she was the only daughter of Lorna and Frank Cormier. She was predeceased by her cherished grandfather Harold Bowes, grandmothers Audrey Bowes and Gladys Rayne. She is survived by her brother Mark Cormier [Michelle], niece Myla Cormier, nephew Ethan Cormier and her parents.
Lisa was adventurous, mechanical minded and enjoyed socials with family and friends. In her childhood, she loved her big brother who was always devoted to her. She will long be remembered for her love of horses, big trucks, music, work, sweets, electronics, driving cars and aquatics. Being competitive she participated in beauty pageants and in many equestrian events including barrel racing, English riding, western riding and costume classes. Over the years, she acquired many certificates of achievements and awards of excellence; academically, in various sports, in naval cadets and in many equestrian events. She was a proud participant in “The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo”. Knowledgeable and well-rounded, her skills included certifications as Petty Officer Second Class Cadet with R.C.S.C.C. Nelson; in Human Resources Management at Sir Sandford Fleming College leading to a variety of office employments and Foundation Career College licensing for Long Haul Tractor Trailer Class 01, with which she travelled extensively in the USA and Canada.
Liking to appear tough on the outside, her family knew how sensitive and sentimental she was on the inside. An independent and hard worker, we saw in the variety of her life a zest for living that could only be the dreams of others.
The kindnesses people showed to her will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her boundless energy, love of animals, wacky sense of humour and cartoon drawings of people she loved.
