Linda Mae Dee
1943-2021
At her residence, March 12, 2021, Mrs. Linda Mae Dee of
Limestone Siding passed away at the age of 77. She was the
widow of Rev. Alvin Dee. Born at North View, New Brunswick
in 1943, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Eva Mae (Steeves)
MacLeod.
Linda may not have seemed accomplished in the world’s eyes,
but to those who knew her, she was one of the hardest workers, most
dedicated mothers, and most welcoming of hosts. Linda got married at
16 to the love of her life, Alvin Dee. Together, they created a
beautiful family. Linda was a stay-at-home mom and would take on small
jobs to help with the family and provide for their 5 beautiful
children. She would cut seed and pick potatoes, with her children
right there by her side. Her husband always planted a large garden,
and Linda would can anything she could from their abundant harvest.
She loved her family and neighbors well. Once her children were grown,
she took a rural route mail carrier job and sold Avon on the side. She
loved visiting with people and taking their orders. Everybody was
welcome in her home no matter who they were or where they came from.
She had so much love to give that she opened her heart and home to
foster children for over 11 years.
She is survived by her five children, Brenda Dee, at home,
Barbara Moran (Donnie) of Limestone Siding, Beatrice Miller of
Brockton, MA, Rev. Roy Dee (Amanda) of Limestone Siding and Lorie Ann
Tracey (Shawn) of Four Falls, son-in-law, Les Miller of Brockton, MA,
14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren plus one on the way, one
brother, David MacLeod (Nancy) of Woodstock, two sisters, Phoebe
Sawler (late Dawson) of Lake Edward and Caroline Wickett (Rev. Fred)
of Zealand, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by a sister, Alma Cox.
Funeral services will be held from her beloved Amazing Grace
Church, Limestone Siding with interment in Mountain View
Cemetery.
For those who wish, donations to the New Brunswick Lung
Association would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements are being finalized.
