Obituary of Leslie Hildebrandt
HILDEBRANDT Leslie Lorne – passed away peacefully at home with family by his side, on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
Leslie Hildebrandt of Pembroke, beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Hildebrandt (nee Mooney). Dear father of Laurie Ryan (Terry), Spencer Hildebrandt & Sally Edwards all of Pembroke. Cherished grandfather of Tyler St. Pierre, Holly, Liam & Caitlin Ryan; Aidan, Teagan, Madeline & Simon Hildebrandt; and Dawson & Ethan Edwards. Son of the late Lorne & Lydia Hildebrandt (nee Schoenfeldt). Brother of Gordon Hildebrandt (Eileen), late Paul Hildebrandt (Marie), late Barry Hildebrandt (late Margaret), Iris Fischer (Jim), Bruce Hildebrandt (Marilyn) & Fern Turcotte (Bryan). Brother-in-law of Robert, Kevin and the late Clinton Mooney. Survived and missed by many nieces and nephews.
Leslie started his early life as a proud member in the Canadian Air Force. He thoroughly enjoyed his time over seas serving his country. He met his wife Betty in Montreal and settled in Pembroke to raise their family and start his career at AECL. He enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life such as the family cottage, hunting, golfing and traveling. He could often be found on the golf coures, at the family cottage or hunt camp.
Respecting Leslie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Spring interment at Wesley United Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated).
