Kissock Annie 'Nancy' January 3rd 2021 avis de deces

Kissock, Annie ‘Nancy’
January 3rd, 2021
In Delaware, Ontario, Canada. Nancy left us peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021, aged 106 and 7 months. Born in Buckton, Northumberland, England in 1914. A strong and caring lady, she lived her life with determination and on her own terms. She did not “go gentle into that good night”. Nancy was devoted to service. As a young woman, she was a children’s nanny to the children of Lord & Lady Crawshaw in Leicestershire, England. Following her time there, she served as a nanny to a family in Norfolk, and one in Newcastle upon Tyne. For 25 years, she worked in the Optical and Photography Department of the Cooperative Society in Newcastle upon Tyne where she made lifelong friends. At the age of 72, she took the bold step of immigrating to Canada to be close to her family. After settling in London, she devoted her time and energy to her family. She served LHSC – University Hospital as a volunteer for over ten years, as well as supporting UNICEF in raising funds. In volunteering, she once again made lifelong friends with whom she enjoyed many happy times. She leaves to mourn her loving daughter Jacqueline and Ron; her devoted grandchildren: Ashley and Allan, Caroline and Kirk; her loving great-grandchildren: Tyler and Nicole, Meghan and Todd; and great-great-grandchildren Kyran and Anthony. She learned two days before she died that she was to be a great-great-grandmother again. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank the administration and the hard-working staff of Middle Terrace for the compassionate care they gave to Nancy. To her care workers who enabled her to remain in her home until she was 103, to Dr. David Spence at the Robarts Research Institute whose care enabled Nancy to lead an active and long life, to her friends Judy and Duncan Hunter, Sandra Ware, and Lilly Zirk who helped and supported her from her arrival in London, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Nancy are asked to consider Robarts Research Institute – Western University (please direct funds to Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology) or the London Health Sciences Foundation (please direct funds to Emergency Medicine, urgently in need of portable ultrasound machines).
