Obituary for Kimberley Carrie MacDonald (nee McLaughlin)
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kimberley Carrie MacDonald, with family at her side, on the evening of December 24th, 2021, at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington.
Beloved wife to Eric and devoted mother to her step-son Jason (Kenna), and her son Jarret (Emily). She will forever be missed by her grandchildren Thomas, Myles and Ainsley. Kim is also survived by her niece Carrie Mawson (Brandon) and nephew Kevin Bell (Lesley), as well as many MacDonald nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and a close network of friends especially her close lifelong friends Errin Dawson and Lorrie O’hoski. Beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Eileen (née Coyle) McLaughlin and sister Jane Bell.
Kimberley was an avid volunteer in the community, having close ties within numerous organizations such as the Flamborough Hockey Association, Carlisle Baseball Association and The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation through Burlington Professional Firefighters Association.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Carlisle Medical Centre Staff and Pharmacy, especially Dr. Donaldson, for the care and support they provided her over the years. The family would also like to thank the Carpenter Hospice for their excellent support of the family and the exceptional care and comfort they provided Kim in her final weeks. The family would also like to thank everyone who visited, called and supported Kim, Eric, Jarret and Jason through these last 6 months of her illness, especially Lori and Mark Bowler, Cheryl and John Burley, and Fabian and Sandy MacDonald, who were all so supportive throughout this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place and at Kim’s request there will be no visitation or service at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington and/ or the Lupus Foundation of Canada.
