Obituary
On Friday, May 28, 2021, Keven Gary Ratcliff (né Ahde), loving son, brother and uncle, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48.
Keven was born on June 6, 1972, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. At a young age, Keven moved to Vancouver Island. He loved the Island where he was close to the ocean and mountains, and he could enjoy the outdoors year-round. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, but his greatest passion was sailing. His career revolved around this passion, and he shared his skills through work with the Navy Cadets where he taught many cadets valuable life lessons.
Keven had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed having a great time. He also embraced adventure, enjoying activities like tubbing, polar bear swimming and rappelling. He was a patient teacher, and a trusted, caring friend to many.
Keven is preceded in death by his mother, Sharron Ratcliff, his maternal grandparents, Nana Jean and Don Mortson and parental grandparents, Helvi and Pentti Ahde. He is survived by his father, Oliver Ahde (Sharon), and sisters Patricia Coxworthy (René), Jessica Bedore (Mike) and Tammy Ahde (Jay) and nephews.
He will be missed by his family and his many friends.
