Obituary of Kent George Halvorsen
Kent George Halvorsen
April 19, 1935 ~ August 3, 2021
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our Dad, Kent Halvorsen. Kent passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2021 after a short battle of cancer.
Kent was born April 19th, 1935 in Buffalo Narrows SK to Jacob and Hilda Halvorsen. He joined the family last with his sister Elsa, and brother Jacob. Kent lived in Buffalo Narrows, SK until 1971 when he moved to Prince Albert, SK. Kent had many passions in life. He enjoyed writing poetry, poking fun at his friends and family, and being a great father. Kent loved working with numbers and was like a human calculator. He could add and subtract in his head faster than you could put the numbers in a calculator. It was fitting that he was an accountant for over 40 years.
Kent is survived by his sons: Shawn Halvorsen of Prince Albert, Karl Halvorsen of Buffalo Narrows, and Ron (Deanna) Morrisette of Prince Albert; and grandchildren Devon, Dustin, Breanna, and Brooklynn Morrisette.
Kent was predeceased by his: parents Jacob and Hilda Halvorsen; his sister Elsa Cullen; brother Jacob (Jake) Halvorsen; nieces and nephew.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Buffalo Fellowship Church, 497 Tom Street, Buffalo Narrows, Sask. Interment will be held at the Buffalo Narrows Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
