The death occurred suddenly at Lennox Island on Saturday May
15, 2021 of Kent Allan Curtis Matthews, age 35, of Summerside formerly
of Lennox Island First Nation, beloved spouse of Kathleen MacArthur.
Born in Summerside on August 19, 1985, son of Sharon (Bernard)
Matthews and the late Allan Matthews.
Loving father to Kenten, Brooke, Allie and
Krista. He is also survived by his brother Jeffery (Jean Henderson)
and sister Faith Matthews, nieces Destiny, Kendra, Marissa and great
nephews William and Tommy, father and mother in law Dale (Linda)
Bernard, and brother in law Shawn MacArthur, aunts and uncles Ester
(Ron) O’Reilly, Mary Jane Bernard (Richard Guimond), Stevie
Bernard, Linda Bernard, Melvin Bernard, Blair (Carol) Matthews and
Donnie (Phyllis) Matthews.
Kent was predeceased by his father, sister
Krista, brother Jeremy, grandparents, Stephen (Marina) Bernard, Glen
(Thirza) Matthews and his uncle Doug Matthews.
Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Home
Chapel. Due to Covid restrictions, private family visitation at the
funeral home and service will take place at St. Anne’s Roman
Catholic Church, Lennox Island First Nation on Thursday. Interment at
a later date in the Parish Cemetery.
