Kathryn Joyce’s Obituary
Passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2021 in her 91st year. Loving wife of the late Dave Boos (2009). Joyce was born on December 27, 1930 in Stratford, ON to Chester and Luceille Hill. Sister of the late Jack (Betty) Hill. Joyce was surrounded by her loving family at the Brantford General Hospital until her time of death. She leaves her children Dianne, Bob (Carol), Doug and John (Lucie) and four grandchildren: Ian (Lauren), Graham (Erica Pate), Liam and Fiona. Boos relatives from Prince Edward County include Jane Cain, Denise (John), Nancy (Gary) and Barb Boos and their chidlren.
Joyce enjoyed a full and healthy life. Born in Stratford and living in the cities of Hamilton, Windsor, Toronto, North Bay, Brantford and finally Paris, Ontario. Many summers were spent at the cottages in Southhampton, Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron. Joyce worked for many years at Sears. Joyce and Dave had many friends: the Toronto Gang, Greenbrier Church, Spring Garden Survey Group, Brant Curling Club, Burford Golf Girls, the Daugaard Potluck Group and later for Joyce many bridge friends, the Grand River Women’s Probus Club and Paris Telfer Place activities.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home. A Private Family Service will take place at the Paris Cemetery on Tuesday December 14, 2021. The family would like to thank the staff at Telfer Place and the BGH staff for the kindness that was provided to Joyce in her final days. In Joyce’s memory, donations to either Special Olympics Ontario (Www1.specialolympicsontario.com) or the Alzheimer’s Society of Brant (Www.Alzhn.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
