Kathleen Yvonne “Kay” (Smith, Livingstone)
Stewart – 92, Great Village, passed away peacefully
on Monday, April 12, 2021, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro. Born in Springhill, she was the fourth child and first daughter
of the late Gilbert and Evelyn (Corkum) Livingstone.

Kay moved to Truro as a young girl and began working at
Stanfield’s. It was during this time that she met the love
of her life, whom she married. They moved to Great Village where Kay
lived for over 70 years. Kay was also a devoted member of
Jehovah’s Witnesses for close to 70 years.
Kay will be sorely missed by her son, Howard (Carolyn) Smith,
Great Village; step-children, John (Gina) Stewart, Truro; Charlene
(Garth) Palmer, Truro; grandchildren, Ronald (Charlotte) Smith, Great
Village; Sherri (Martin) Dzierzanowski, Truro; Steven (Melanie) Smith,
Great Village; step-grandson, Nicholas (Tanya) Stewart, Edmonton,
Alberta; great grandchildren, Nicole, Kathleen, Richard, Rebecca,
Thomas, Dylan, Andrew, Ola; several nieces and nephews. We cannot
forget her fur babies – Jack, her dog and Barney, her cat.
Along with her parents, Kay was predeceased by her first husband,
Russell Smith (1983); second husband, Alexander Stewart (1997);
brothers, Ronald, Reginald “Budd”, Ralph; sister,
June.
We would like to take this time to thank the doctors and
nurses on the 3rd floor at Colchester East
Hants Health Centre who took such good care of Kay during her short
stay.
Graveside service and interment will be held at a later date
in Mahon Cemetery, 8480 Highway 2, Great Village, Mr. David Spence
officiating. COVID-19 precautions must be followed, please. (Upon
arrival at the cemetery, please wear your face mask, register with one
of the funeral directors, maintain physical distancing, remain in your
own bubbles and bring your own chair.) In lieu of flowers, donations
in Kay’s memory to Colchester SPCA, Great Village &
District Volunteer Fire Brigade or charity of choice are
welcomed.
