Obituary of Julia Ann Dorey
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Ann Dorey, of West Arichat, who passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish, on December 29, 2021, at the age of 68.
Born in Arichat on May 5, 1953, she was the daughter of Margaret Babin (Dorey), West Arichat, and the late Henry Dorey.
Julia was a former employee of Richmond Fisheries for many years until it closed. She also worked at Premium Seafoods and The Petit de Grat Packers. She loved and enjoyed taking care of many nieces and nephews and was known to them as “Tante Dea”.
Besides her mother, Margaret Babin (Dorey), Julia is survived by brothers, Ivan Dorey, West Arichat, Clarence Dorey (Kathleen), Cape Cod, Mass; sisters, Colleen Dorey, West Arichat, Collette Dorey (Ralph Richard), Arichat, Nancy Britten (Blair), Arichat, Edna LeJeune, West Arichat; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Maggie, Kevin, Sabrina, Suzanne, Sharon, Stephanie, Brittany, Cindy, Lisa, Alfred, Alicia, and Shelly; great-nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, Alex, Will, Eric, Johnny, Eva, Jack, Grant, Dawson, James, Lily, Grady, and Layla.
Besides her father, Henry Dorey, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas, brother-in-law, John LeJeune.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Julia will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions lift and allow us to do so. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation NS or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Julia during her stay there as well as to the family.
