Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Volhart. Judy passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on November 18, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her son Kyle Farrell, her best friend and cherished daughter in law Gracie MacDonald, her beloved friend Jim Farrell, her mother Jolan Volhart, brother Steven, niece and nephew Julien and Stephanie, stepchildren Tori-Lynn and TJ Farrell as well as her many close friends and co-workers. Judy is predeceased by her Father, Gyula Julius Volhart who has now taken her under his wings.
Before her diagnosis Judy was the insurance claims department manager at Coughlin & Associates Ltd. but she would most like to be remembered as a published author, yoga teacher and a devoted mom to her beloved son Kyle. Judy taught chair yoga classes at the Brockville 50+ club and loved every minute of teaching and helping others. She is also the published author of the “Whine & Cheese Cozy Mystery Series.” Her most recent project was recording guided meditations with the goal of running her own business that her daughter-in-law Gracie would carry on in her honor.
Judy believed her purpose in life was to help others and she most certainly had a massive impact on every single person she was around. She would want us all to continue everyday with a little bit of kindness and positivity in our hearts.
She will be remembered for her uplifting smile and her sense of humor. Judy’s wish for her celebration of life would be to have everybody gather outside with summery drinks and a variety of wines, cheeses and meats. This celebration will be held by Kyle and Gracie at a later date in the spring of 2022.
For now, in lieu of flowers, Judy would want all her friends and family to honor her life by indulging in a sweet treat. Think of her as you enjoy the sweetness and know that she is watching and smiling.
