Knarr, Joyce Marguerite (nee: Krieg), age 87, surrounded by family, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, on January 21, 2021.
Joyce was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Beloved mother to Daryl (Susan) Knarr of Waterloo, Joy-Ann (Alan) Chapeskie of Tucson, AZ, Carol (Duane) Cowan of Waterloo, and Jennifer (Mark) Mantel of Waterloo. Dear Grandmother to Sarah (Michael) Henkel, Jacob Sanchez, Joshua Knarr, Rebecca Sanchez, and Benjamin Cowan. Great Grandma to Sadie, Brooklyn and Hailey Henkel. Honourary Grandma to Jessica Berry and Gavin Karley. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Roy Knarr. Parents, Robert Krieg and Hazel (Jenny) Krieg (nee: Wilson). Brothers, Wilfred, Harold (Blossom), Ross (Elleda), and sister in law, Edna (Carl) Pitvor.
Joyce lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and volunteer. Very appreciated by her friends for her kind heart and compassionate personality. She was a 40+ year active member of First Baptist Church in Waterloo, ON. She loved to share her faith and was an avid prayer warrior. Whether it was for her children’s families, or her niece’s and nephew’s families, her church, or the many issues within this world, she was often found kneeling beside her bed at different times throughout the day, praying for the needs that fell on her heart.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to the many Doctors, Nurses and PSWs that cared for Joyce in the last several weeks leading up to her passing. Much appreciation to the LIHN Palliative Care Team, especially Vanessa, RN., of CarePartners and Shanti, PSW of CarePartners.
As per Joyce’s request, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Joyce gave heartfelt compassion and support to many organizations in need. We ask that any expressions of sympathy go to an organization that you feel a heartfelt compassion for.
