Toole, Joseph Wilfred – Age 85, of Brentwood, passed away on April 1, 2021.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late John and Gertrude (Atkinson) Toole. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia (Leblanc); sons Robert (Thea), George (Trish), all of Brookfield; Andrew; daughter, Pamela (Robert) Moncrieff, Blackie, Alberta; grandchildren, Kelly, Mark, Rebecca, Jennifer, Hailey, Clint; five great- grandchildren; and brother, Chester (Judy), Truro.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by an infant son; sisters, Jane Godfrey, Joyce Coates, Barbra Geldart; and brother, Jack.
Joe owned and operated his own business, Joe Toole Backhoe and Excavating Services for many years. During the winter he worked for Department of Transportation plowing snow. He also worked with Irving Oil delivering heating oil. He loved to fish and hunt and you would see him and Pat at many dances throughout the area. Joe had many friends in the community, he loved telling stories and making jokes wherever he went.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Cedarstone with a special thanks to Victoria Way for caring and looking after Dad over the past years.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. Interment will be held in Brookfield Westside Cemetery. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
