1931 – 2021
Joseph “Joe” Simon Duthie of Sunny Corner, NB, husband of Vera (Allison) Duthie passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, February 15, 2021 at the age of 89. Born in Campbellton, NB, he was the son of the late Margaret (Duthie) Vienneau.
Joseph was a self-employed business owner as well as a school bus driver. He attended the Boom Road Pentecostal Church.
Joseph is survived by his wife: Vera; sisters: Betty Jean Godfrey of Miramichi, NB and Rose Marie Holmes of Moncton, NB; brothers: Jimmy Vienneau of Campbellton, NB, Alfred Vienneau (Nancy) of Campbellton, NB and David Vienneau (Linda) of Miramichi, NB; one grandson: Joe Duthie as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, Joseph is predeceased by: daughter: Twila Duthie
A public visitation will be held from Meadows Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
Please note: face masks will be required and social distancing guidelines will be followed under the orange level recovery phase.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held from Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, Sunny Corner on Friday, February 19, 2020 with Pastor Jody Holmes officiating. Interment will be the St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Joseph’s memory, donations may be made to Canadian Mental Health or a charity of the donor’s choice. Messages of condolence for the family can be sent through the funeral home website www.bellsmeadows.com
