It is with great sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Joseph Jerome Perdue on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the age of 76.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Cecelia Perdue, his sisters Regina and Margaret, his brother Simon and brother-in-law Larry. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine (née Leahy), his daughters Vanessa (Dan), Roberta (Mark), and Martina, and his grandchildren, Meredith, Natalie, Marlowe and Maclean. He leaves behind his sister Patricia, his brothers-in-law Eric (Meg) and Pete (Margrethe), and sister-in-law Joan.
Throughout his life, Joe was an active member of the congregation at St. Luke’s Church in Downeyville. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Order 8911 and was dedicated to serving the community. Upon his retirement from Tool and Die Making at Fisher Gauge in 2006, Joe renewed his interest in carpentry and woodworking. He spent many peaceful hours refinishing and repurposing antiques and farm implements.
Visitation will be held at the Stoddart Funeral Home in Lindsay on Tuesday, August 24 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Luke’s Church, Downeyville on Wednesday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
