Joseph Albert Gignac January 8 2021

Gignac, Joseph Albert – Passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2021, just shy of his 85th birthday. He was born in New Liskeard, Ontario to parents, Gil and Betty (Larkin) Gignac. He spent 26 years as a police officer in New Liskeard. He moved to Nova Scotia in 2004 to be with the second love of his life, Yvonne Snyder.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 48 years, Colleen O’Grady; sons, Peter and Paul; brother, Jerome; and sister, Patricia Boucher.
He is survived by son, Mark (Kim) in Sault St. Marie, Ontario; grandchildren, Jordan and Beth; step-children, David, Alvaretta, and Karen (Danny Murphy); sister, Mary Cosgrove; and brother, Roger.
Joe was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. His fellow knights were like family to him and he became very close to all of them. His strong family values will be sorely missed by all.
Due to the current COVID restrictions, Joe will be cremated under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit with plans to have a memorial service at a later date in order to celebrate his life with family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Knights of Columbus.
