Jordan Alice Millar December 31 1980 November 1 2021

Jordan Alice Millar was born on New Year’s Eve 1980 in the beautiful Bulkley Valley in the small northern community of Smithers, BC. Jordan was the first born to Teresa and Alexander Millar. She was a curious, caring, smart, and quiet child. Raised in the country, Jordan spent most of her childhood outdoors playing with her siblings, cousins and friends on Millar Road. Being the oldest, Jordan took command of her cousins and siblings. She was always taking care of others and always had a lesson to teach. She was feisty, a real boss. Jordan had a deep love for the nature and animals, as they both brought her peace. Jordan was very vibrant and a real intellect. She was always reading and learning, always wanting to gain more knowledge. She was a high achiever in everything she did. A testament to this is the awards that Jordan won in school for her academic achievements. Jordan also had a very artistic and creative side. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, drawing, sewing, baking and cooking. Jordan made homemade chocolates at Christmas time and hand sewn Halloween costumes. When Jordan put her mind to something she really gave it her all.
After high school Jordan wanted to pursue her dreams in becoming a veterinarian so she moved to Victoria to live with her family and attend the University of Victoria. Jordan quickly realized that she didn’t have the stomach to do the job of a vet, then switched over to the University of British Columbia where she obtained an archeology degree. Jordan loved to travel and spent some time in Korea teaching English, and took part in an archeology dig in England.
Jordan decided she wanted to do more with her career so she attended the Canadian memorial chiropractic college in Toronto. Jordan had found her calling. Jordan was extremely passionate about helping others, especially pregnant women, children, and infants. Jordan had a real delicate touch with babies and was a natural mother.
Jordan moved to San Diego and practiced as a chiropractor part time while focusing mainly on raising her two small children, Jules and Alice. Jordan was never truly happy in the city and decided to move back to Victoria to be closer to family where she was better supported dealing with Jules who was fighting leukaemia.
Jules’ fight with leukaemia was a challenging time for Jordan. Despite the difficulties she faced, Jordan was still able to focus her energy into becoming an advocate for childhood cancer, getting involved with Tour De Rock and Island Kids Cancer Association. Jordan was an extremely strong willed and determined person. She exhibited this strength during her own 19-month battle with colon cancer. Not once did Jordan give up, she was committed to her children and fought hard until the very end. Jordan hiked up mount Doug during treatment, and continued to work as a chiropractic and care for her children full time. Even from her hospital bed Jordan did not miss a beat. Jordan was determined to raise awareness of young onset CRC and interviewed with multiple local new stations and Minister Adrian Dix. Her goal was to make a difference in the health care system and save at least one life with earlier colorectal cancer detection.
Jordan had always been very family oriented and always put her children first above anything, even herself. The world has lost a wonderful, loving, vibrant, loyal, and amazing soul. Jordan leaves behind her mother and father Teresa and Alexander, her children Jules and Alice, her siblings Adam, Lucas, and Devon (Peter, Hailey and Maya) and lots of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends who love her deeply. Jordan will be greatly missed by many.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
