Obituary of John Mitchell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father John A. Mitchell of Camrose Alberta, formerly of Edson Alberta, on December 22, 2021 at the age of 81.
John was born October 18, 1940 in Flin Flon Manitoba to Roy and Lillian, oldest sibling to brother Patrick (Sandy) and sister Jean (Ken). John was also a loving father to daughter Vienna (Jim) and two sons, Keith and Kelly (Corrin); 8 grandchildren, Cory (Jenna), Hona (Laiken), Katelynn, Tayja, Jersey, Alyse, Haley, and Connor, and 3 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Stella and Phoebe.
John will be fondly remembered by his close friends Paul and Wanda Kugyelka as well as numerous other friends and family members.
John was ever the conversationalist, and we always joked that if there were 50 people in the room he would have spoken to every one of them.
In his lifetime John took on many ventures; from driving bus for the local Flin Flon hockey team in his younger years, to working at the Luscar coal mine, to driving for an Edson cab company he would later become co-owner of, and in his later years as a greeter at Walmart, John made an impression on everyone he ever met, even if it was only in passing.
We are grateful for the time and enormous influence John had on us and he will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John
