John enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces Camp Gagetown, New Brunswick for 3 years where he learned how to drive jeeps, deuces, and ton and halves. He loved sports and his favourites sports were horse racing, boxing, CFL in the early days and the NFL (Dallas Cowboys).
He loved music and could name every band and songs from the R&B, Funk, and Rock genre, etc.. He had a razor-sharp memory where he could recall conversations or events from decades ago that could tell you the date and time that it happened. He was a fair man that looked at both sides of a story before passing judgment. He was a very honest man to almost a fault. John was never afraid to say when he was wrong.
John loved to cook and it came to him so naturally. He never wrote a recipe down, he kept in the vault. He was a very generous many in that you gave me everything that he had. John was also a very private man. I am going to miss all these qualities about him. I am truly lost without but I know he is at peace now with his mom and dad in heaven. Rest in Peace big guy. I will love you always.
