John Jack Court 1937 2021

Obituary of John “Jack” Court
COURT, John “Jack” – passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 84 years.
John “Jack” Court of Pembroke, beloved husband of 60 years to Marlyn Court (nee Lassman). Dear father of Lori (Terry) Chesterman of Port-Elgin & Richard “Rick” Court of Ottawa. Cherished grandpa to Katherine & Scott Chesterman. Predeceased by parents Edward & Lillian Court (nee Wilson) and by sister Eleanor (Tom) Arnold. Special uncle to Carolyn (Fern) Lance. Jack will be missed and remembered by many who shared in his jokes and laughter at his barber shop, where he worked for 59 years. Jack truly enjoyed seeing his customers, talking about day- to-day things while making memories over the many years barbering. The family would like to extend their most sincere thank you to the Ottawa Civic Hospital, his home care nurses, his social worker Stephanie and also to the Pembroke Paramedic Team who all looked after Jack in a very kind and compassionate way.
Respecting Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pembroke in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke. (As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Ottawa Civic Hospital would be appreciated.)
