John 'Connie Quinlan 2021 avis de deces

With broken hearts and profound sadness, we regret to announce the passing of our father, grandfather and brother, John “Connie” Quinlan on Monday, March 22, 2021.
Born February 18, 1957, in Sydney, he was the son of the late Cornelius ‘Con” and Claire (MacDougall) Quinlan.
John was a skilled plumber and pipefitter, holding a Red Seal in both. He was a passionate tradesman with a tenacious work ethic and was a proud member of the United Association of Plumbers & Pipefitters (Local 682). Mentorship of his craft was important to him, from assisting with the apprenticeship program at NSCC to teaching his son, Tyler the skills of the trade. John’s talents were widely known throughout the Cape Breton community.
When not working his trade, John had a passion and innate skill for fixing things. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix! In his free time, John enjoyed the outdoors and experiencing what nature had to offer to the fullest. Whether it was skydiving with Stacey, an ATV ride or camping and enjoying a bonfire, John was at home in the outdoors.
John was a dedicated family man with strong values. He adored and was incredibly proud of his daughter, Stacey, son, Tyler and four grandchildren. A gentle giant, John’s warm and empathetic nature showed in his kindness and compassion for others. He was a proud supporter of the Coats for Kids charity during the Santa Clause parade. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
John is survived by his daughter, Stacey Quinlan MacNeil (Donald), Bedford; son, Tyler Quinlan (Alisha Sampson), Glace Bay; the mother of his children, Deborah Quinlan; grandchildren, Cameron and Dylan MacNeil, Dayton Quinlan and Lila Sampson; sisters, Joan, Elaine, Theresa (Bob) Howell, Corinne (Chester Leydon) and Carol (Dave) Bateman; brother, David; sister-in-law, Wanda Quinlan; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Myrden and brother, Kevin Quinlan.
Funeral arrangements will follow at a later date when they are complete.
Memorials on John’s behalf can be made to the Cape Breton SPCA.
