Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johanna Brunet (née Logtens) on December 27th, 2021, at the age of 79.
Loving wife of the late Donat Brunet. Beloved mother to Claude Brunet (Ginette Houle-Brunet), Suzanne Miller (Blaine Miller), and André Brunet (Nancy Robertson). Adored grandmother to Catherine, Roxanne, Emma, Samuel, and Joseph. Johanna was predeceased by her mother Maria, her father Martin, and her brothers Martin (Gloria) and Tony (Nancy). She will also be dearly missed by her sisters Helena Van Delst Vandelst (Martin), and Cherry Bekkers (Leo).
Hannah was a known traveler from a young age. She immigrated to Canada with her family from Holland and settled in Finch to grow their dairy farm. She later traveled with her darling husband to many other different parts of the world. She loved being a snowbird by spending her winters in Florida.
Johanna enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and knitting. She also liked solving giant puzzles on her dinner table. In addition, she was known to be one filled with luck, as she often won when playing Bingo. She also loved being a grandmother. Her green thumb gave her beautiful flower beds in front of her house in Casselman, as well as her many indoor plants.
The family would like to express their greatest thanks to the staff at Madonna Care Community for the wonderful care they provided to Johanna during the last 5 years.
A religious service to commemorate Johanna’s passing will be held in the upcoming spring.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
