1941-2021
Joan Isabel (Campbell) Romkey – age
80, of Coldbrook, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 in the
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Pembrook, Hants Co., she
was a daughter of the late Clarence and Winnie (McNeil)
Campbell.
Prior to retirement, Joan worked as a
hairdresser for many years. She was also the Regional Director of
Carleton Cards. Joan was happiest spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her children, Derrick and
Colleen (Tom), both of Coldbrook; sister, Shirley (Tom) Cleary,
Dartmouth; grandchildren, Kimberly (Robert), Amanda (Andy) and Chantal
(Patrick); and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Charlotte, Ryker, Kya and
Presley. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Gary Romkey and daughter-in-law, Christina
Romkey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday,
December 2, 2021 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
In accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof
of Full Vaccination Policy, proof of full vaccination will be required
to attend visitations, services and receptions held in or by the White
Family Funeral Home. For those who are
unable to attend, a video webcast of the service will be available at
1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the IWK or a
charity of one’s choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. To view
