Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Joan Doris (Fraser) Saunders, announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 21, 2021.
Joan was the daughter of the late Eldon and Alida (Guimond)Fraser. Joan is survived by her children Trish Saunders of Rothesay, Lynn Saunders (Michel Huard) of Bathurst and Randall Saunders of Saint John.
Mom loved all her grandchildren Danielle, Kyle, Dylan, and Jessica. Mom took special pride in her great grandbabies Kaylee, Kristopher, Brayden, Owen, Damien, Jaxson, and Lilah along with several nieces and nephews.
Mom was an avid Bingo player, when Fairvale Outing Association became too far mom took into TV bingo with her friends. Never missed a Tuesday or Thursday night. She loved her plants and flowers, so much she would ask her family if their plants needed some TLC. She would take them home and nurse them back, but the plant(s) remained with her (lol). Mom adored her furbabies Koda and the late Elmo, Felix and Misty. Mom also loved working with the elderly, even as a senior herself.
Aside from her parents, Joan was also predeceased by her loving husband Garey Stuart Saunders and her sister Dawn Phillis Masten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506) 646-2424, where visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from the hours of 11:00 a.m. – 1:3o p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Titus Hill Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings, all those 12 and older attending visitation and service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued ID.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards the SPCA or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
