It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of Marilyn Stephenson of Petrolia announces her sudden passing on Friday May 7, 2021 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Stephenson (2004).
Loving mother of Caillie Stephenson (Corey) of Oil Springs, ON, Connie Butler (Phil) of Wyoming, ON.
Cherished grandmother of Cash & Caia McKinnon and Cal Butler.
Loving stepmother of Cindy Orser, Robb Stephenson both of Saltspring Island, BC and Ginny Jones (Willy) of Idaho.
Treasured step-grandmother of 13 and step-great-grandmother of many little loved ones.
Also survived by her sister-in-law Clarice Duncan of Red Deer, AB.
Predeceased by her parents Alex and Anne Forsyth, sister and brother-in-law Marq & Cal Belbeck. Brother and sister-in-law Dr. Robert & Mac Forsyth.
She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Marilyn was born in Swift Current, SK where she lived until she left for Nursing school in Saskatoon. As a child she spent summers with her family at their ranch in Tomkins. After graduation Marilyn and her lifelong friend Marj Gilles travelled the world and spent 2 years living in Hawaii.
Marilyn returned home and married Bob in 1971. After Caillie and Connie were born they left Alberta for Ontario. Marilyn worked as an ER nurse for almost 30 years at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. She retired in 1999 and spent winters travelling to Arizona with Bob.
During this past year she especially cherished time spent with her family.
It is comforting to know that she is now at peace and reunited with Bob.
