With deep sadness, we announce the passing of 95 year old Jean Mary Pottie on July 28th, 2021 at the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s.
Born February 18th, 1926 in River Bourgeois, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Remi Fougere and Mary (Richard) Fougere.
Jean loved sewing and knitting, and was known for her many quilts and blankets that she made over the years. She enjoyed baking and sharing her baked goods with everyone. She also loved travelling, and spent a great amount of time in Dartmouth. One of her favourite pass times was playing bingo and trying her luck at the casino.
She is survived by her sons Leonard (Cynthia), River Bourgeois, NS; Leslie (Pene), River Bourgeois, NS; Vincent, Hamilton, ON; and her daughters Estelle (Lloyd), Hanmer, Ontario; Kathleen, Dartmouth, NS; lots of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; her sister Marie, Florida, US.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Pottie, her son Anthony, her son-in- law Ronald, her daughter-in-law Bonnie, her brothers Charlie and Henry, her sisters Clara, Phylis, Anna, Cecil, and Catherine.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service for family held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Richmond Villa in St.Peter’s
