Jean’s Obituary
STUART, Jean – Age 61 of Eel Lake, passed away peacefully in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 with his wife and family by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Clemente (Comeau) Stuart.
For many years, Jean was seen as the zambonie driver at the rink at Université Sainte-Anne and on the lawn mower in the summer time. He was a devoted husband and friend to whoever he met. Always happy at any social event or gathering with friends. He loved to make people laugh, always ready with a joke.
He is survived by his wife, Monique; siblings, Sylvia Stuart, Fort McMurray, Alberta; Louise (the late Blackie) Comeau, Meteghan; Ernest (Suzanne), Church Point; Junior (Marlene), Grosses Coques; Eric (Andrea), Grand Prairie; Robert, Alberta; Tina Stuart (Kevin), Concession; many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. Due to the current Covid-19 provincial restrictions, a public graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 7 at 11 am in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Church Point. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or to VON.
