La famille Rivet a le regret de vous annoncer son décès survenu à Sturgeon Falls, le lundi 12 juillet, 2021 à l’âge de 90 ans. Fils de feu Napoléon Rivet et de feu Mary Rivet (née Turner). Époux de Rita Rivet (née Gagné). Père de Jean-Luc (Karen), François (Pam), Serge (Andrée Côté) et Martin (Lacy Farrell). Son souvenir restera gravé dans la mémoire de ses petits-enfants Jean-François, André-Michel, Danika, Dominique, Brianne, Deric, Riley, Thomas, Lily, Jenny et Andrew. Frère de Florence Patenaude (feu Dr Nicol Patenaude). Beau-frère de Geraldine McDonald (Doug). Prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs Georgianna McDonald (feu Duncan), Edna Martin (feu Maurice), Victoria Trahan (feu Paul), Thérèse Coursol (feu William), Lionel (feu Pauline), Jacques (Paulette), Ronald (feu Ginette) et Bernadette Poulin (Gilles). Jean-Guy était un membre actif et impliqué dans sa communauté. Il était membre du conseil scolaire, du conseil municipal, de Chevaliers de Colomb et du Club Richelieu. Les plus sincères remerciements au Docteur Behamdouni, le personnel de l’Hôpital Général du Nipissing Ouest et le personnel du VON pour les excellents soins prodigués. La famille Rivet recevra parents et amis au salon funéraire Théorêt-Bourgeois, Sturgeon Falls, le samedi, 24 juillet, 2021 de 9h00 à 11h00. The family announces with sorrow his death in Sturgeon Falls, on Monday, July 12th, 2021, at the age of 90 years. Son of the late Napoléon Rivet and of the late Mary Rivet (née Turner). Husband of Rita Rivet (née Gagné). Father of Jean-Luc (Karen), François (Pam), Serge (Andrée Côté) and Martin (Lacy Farrell). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jean-François, André-Michel, Danika, Dominique, Brianne, Deric, Riley, Thomas, Lily, Jenny and Andrew. Brother of Florence Patenaude (late Dr Nicol Patenaude). Brother-in-law of Geraldine McDonald (Doug). Predeceased by his siblings Georgianna McDonald (late Duncan), Edna Martin (late Maurice), Victoria Trahan (late Paul), Thérèse Coursol (late William), Lionel (late Pauline), Jacques (Paulette), Ronald (late Ginette) and Bernadette Poulin (Gilles). Jean-Guy was an active member of the community. He was a member of the school board, the municipal council, the Knights of Columbus and of the Richelieu Club. Sincere thanks to Doctor Behamdouni, the staff at the West Nipissing General Hospital and the VON for the excellent care provided. The family will receive friends at the Théorêt-Bourgeois funeral home, Sturgeon Falls, Saturday, July 24th, 2021, from 9:00am to 11:00am. The funeral service will follow at 11 :15am in the funeral home chapel. Donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation (Hummingbird Room) would be appreciated.
