Obituary of Jane DeSousa (Weir)
At age 55, passed peacefully surrounded by family on July 7th, 2021 at St Joe’s Hospital in Toronto, ON, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jane was born February 5th, 1966 in Brockville, ON to Gail and Allan Weir. She grew up in Athens, ON where she graduated from Athens District High School. Jane was also a graduate of St. Lawrence College in Kingston, ON. She enjoyed a successful career as a Vice President in the business industry, often travelling across Canada to work with new business openings
.
Jane is survived by her husband Luis, father Allan, and her brother Mark. She was preceded by her mother Gail Weir (Portieous).
Besides spending time with family and friends, Jane had a passion for travel, painting, and drawing. Many of her works can be found in the homes of the ones she loved most. Jane also had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her helpful nature. She touched many lives with her generosity, volunteerism, and passion for life.
As per Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
