Obituary of James Mecher
It is with great sadness we announce that Jim passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, after a short battle with metastatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Norma (nee Keyes) for 61 years. Beloved father of Linda (Frank) and James. Cherished grandfather of Blake (Kristen), Chelsea (Daniel), Kaitlin (Stephen) and great-grandfather of Noah and Violet. Jim was born in Windsor, ON, son of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Tillger) Mecher, and brother of the late John (Anna). Jim moved to Ottawa in 1960 and he joined the firm of J. L. Richards & Associates Ltd. as an architectural draftsman, and he retired in 1996. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and Ruddy Shenkman Hospice for the excellent care they gave Jim. At Jim’s request, there will be no Funeral Service
