SMITH, James – (Owner of Pickering Ornamental Iron and Steel, Pickering Welding and Steel, and Jim Smith Farm Equipment) ~ Entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 27, 2021. Jim at the age of 91, was the beloved husband of the late Gloria (née Nellis) (2001). Loving father of Owen, Edward (Mary Lou), Kevin (Colleen), Heather, Sean (Natasha) and Rosemarie (Dean Myers). Cherished grandfather of Justin (Leah), Jamie (Kyle), Allison (Dave); Matthew, Patrick; Bryan; Adam (Olivia), Devon, Brayden and Mason, and great-grandfather of 8. Predeceased by 8 siblings. Dearly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home on Friday, December 31st from 11:00a.m. until 12:30p.m. A Mass of Christian of Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kinmount. If desired, a memorial donation to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
