James M. “Sprickles” LeBlanc

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother and uncle, James Merlin “Sprickles” LeBlanc, age 73 on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at his home.
Born in Alder Point, October 19, 1947, James was the son of the late Homer and Martha (Forrest) LeBlanc. For a short-time he worked on the Great Lake boats, but spent most of his working life as a fisherman on deep-sea draggers. James enjoyed playing the accordion, he was a very friendly man and had many friends.
James is survived by his sister; Phyllis Clifford, Port Hawkesbury, brothers: Aulden LeBlanc, Sydney Mines and John LeBlanc, Thorold, Ontario, by numerous half-brothers and half-sisters, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, James was predeceased by a special brother George Payne.
By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
